Crunchy dog treats made with whole wheat, oats, peanut butter, and applesauce.
# Components:
→ Dry Ingredients
01 - 2 cups whole wheat flour
02 - 0.5 cup rolled oats
03 - 0.25 cup nonfat dry milk powder
04 - 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
→ Wet Ingredients
05 - 0.5 cup unsweetened applesauce
06 - 0.25 cup natural unsalted peanut butter (xylitol-free)
07 - 2 large eggs
08 - 0.33 cup water, as needed
# Preparation Steps:
01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, mix whole wheat flour, rolled oats, dry milk powder, and baking powder until evenly distributed.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk together unsweetened applesauce, natural peanut butter, and eggs until smooth.
04 - Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry, stirring until a dough forms. Add water one tablespoon at a time if the dough is too dry.
05 - Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to approximately 0.25-inch thickness.
06 - Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut out treats and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
07 - Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the treats are golden brown and firm to the touch.
08 - Allow the treats to cool completely on a wire rack before giving them to your dog.
