# Preparation Steps:
01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté finely chopped onion and minced garlic in 1 tablespoon of butter until softened, about 3 minutes.
03 - Add cubed chicken to the skillet and cook, stirring frequently, until the pieces are just opaque but not fully cooked, approximately 4–5 minutes. Remove from heat.
04 - In a large bowl, whisk together sour cream, milk, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
05 - Fold in broccoli florets and the partially cooked chicken mixture until everything is evenly combined.
06 - Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
07 - In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup cheddar cheese and breadcrumb mixture evenly over the casserole.
